Pair-cased: Made in the mid-18th century, this is essentially an open-face pocket watch set inside a hunter case.The winding and setting stem and crown will be located at the 12 position on the watch. Open-face: This type of watch does not have a cover to protect the crystal, or glass, on the dial of the watch.Military pocket watches: Pocket watches were standard issue for militaries in some regions up through the early 1900s and were very simple.The stem and crown, or winding mechanism, will be located at the 3 position on the watch. Hunter case: This type of watch has a round metal cover attached to a spring hinge that closes to protect the crystal on the dial.Demi-hunter case: The cover has a tiny window so you can tell the time without opening it.Pristine is the word for its condition.Dimensions: watch 2 ¾” including stem x 1 7/8” diameter, case 3 5/8” square x 1” tall Weight: 2.8 oz.The watch dial, or face, and watch case are used to identify what type of pocket watch you have. Although they must exist, I have had no luck whatsoever finding an identical watch online.The watch has never been wound and never been carried or used in any way. There is a push button on the top of the stem to release the watch cover.The watch was acquired roughly 35 years ago as an employee presentation. The inside of the cover has a guilloche pattern of intersecting circles. The case back has a relief image of Minnesota's famous Redwood train station, birthplace of the Sears empire, at one time the largest retailer in the entire world. Sears, so titled in an oval on the front. The bronze gold case bears a handsome relief bust of Mr. There is separate second hand dial and hand. The watch itself has the original attached Incabloc medallion that says ‘shock-protected’.The face of the watch is pure white with black Roman numerals and red 24-hr indicators.
